....During all this, I was trying to make it to a dance recital that I was performing in. I remember watching the others rehearsing. Everyone in the performance had to hold a red rose and I saw each rose stem had been trimmed and a drinking straw attached as a handle.

Tier 1 - Key Symbol - the rose
We know the rose as a symbol of love and adoration. There was an ancient Roman expression sub rosa “under the rose’ which referred to the ancient practice of having a rose at a meeting table where talks were to happen that needed to be kept secret. The God Harpocrates sitting within a rose with his finger pressed to his lips, ordaining silence about the mysteries about to unfold. The dancers had the flower with a straw which could be pressed to the lips. So there could be something trying to be kept secret even in front of very judging peers like a dance troupe.
